“Susans classes are not like the dance classes I have attempted in the past. They are effortless and freeing, non-judgemental and full of fun. Her classes stretch and strengthen my body and focuses my mind. She is delightful and non-threatening, a pleasure to be with"
- Virginia, Thursday Zoom class
“Nia meant very little to me initially and I had never done any group fitness or dance before but I decided to check it out. So I engaged in my first Nia class via zoom with an open mind and found the class uplifting and refreshing. My whole body and mind felt actively engaged in the Nia experience of free movement, mindfulness and fitness.
I felt I'd had a good workout, engaging every part of the body and yet I felt relaxed! After eight zoom classes with Susan, my balance, coordination, rhythmn and movement to the beat of the music have all improved. I can now happily look away from the screen! After each session I feel uplifted and refreshed - and there is also the social engagement with Susan and other participants from in and around Perth, Clacks and Stirlingshire. I have recommmended Susan's classes to all my friends and introduced her classes to friends farther afield too!

✓ Any age can part -- Susan has class members from ages 19 - 85
✓ Ideally done barefoot - but clean soft shoes, or socks with grippers are also an option
✓ Nia is a worldwide programme, 40 years old this year, falling between and pre-dating many fitness trends and fads - Nia defies categories, and so often doesn't fit in various sports or therapeutic venues because of this
✓ Nia starts with awareness and pleasure with the by-products of: fitness, flexibility, balance and coordination
✓ It is also known as 'The Nia Technique, and pronounced "knee-ah". It started in 1983 in USA, and came to Scotland 18+ years ago
Doing Nia will put you back in charge of your fitness, improve your confidence and vitality and give you an interest that can last you for life. Where other classes become repetitive, with 'no-where to go' after a year or so - Nia can be taken to new levels by adding on layers or knowledge and new ways of experiencing which just makes it get better and better,
We begin with just moving - to the wonderful music -- and sensing our feet.
Can you do that ? Yes ? Then you can do Nia.
...and I hope to welcome you soon
